I have started making a new forum site all about music and guitars

it will offer alot of tabs backing tracks and reviews when they are all up

also that shitty skin wont be there and I will also get rid of the ads soon

anyone who is interested go here www.guitartech.tk I will make a few of you mods because I know you are good posters

its looking so empty at the moment im hoping that some of you guys will come and fill it up

also gazaa how do you get a forum site popular because people wont be attracted to it unless you have alot of people registered or you offer alot of stuff

if you offer alot of stuff you need people to put it there ... its one big circle

how did you do it

Forums are the hardest sites to make work, so your forum has to offer something that makes you want to register.

For a start, get a proper domain name, and proper hosting, invision free sucks ass, you can't move the database if your forum does get popular, and portals and mods arn't available for IF. This will show you are serious about the future of your messageboard.

Secondly, make the theme of your site clear once a guest who may be a potential member clear, it will become clear after you have a few active members, but it has to stand out.

Thirdly, offer members the ability to be an smod if they reach 150 posts, this gives people incentive to post actively, and an active board will turn guests into members.

Make your site look good, and never have a default invision logo.

Lastly, you need to make affiliations and promote your forum, so contact webm,asters with sites on the same wavelength, such as guitar sites and offer link exchange once you have a little bit of traffic, try get a few mates to post just to keep it active for a little while.

After hard work, google submission, affiliation, actively posting as much as possible, your forum will be on a roll.

aw thats gay, hmm well looks like I'm just gonna have to stick to the jakey layout I had, but thanks anyway for the help.
