My keyboard has made a modification. it appears to be using Apple Mac settings when I have windows. The " sign has swapped with @ and a load of others ave swapped. How do I change it back?

Go to keyboard settings and change it back to UK

How can I go about doing that? I gone to control panel, selected keyboard but have no option to change it's settings

on XP..
Regional and language settings, the advanced tab make sure UK is selected.
Then to the left of the task bar, you'll see a language bar, most probably with "EN" on it, you can change the settings to brit config thurr.
