I had time in coputer class cause I decided not to do work and I wanted to write the history of a group you don't know much about or care about cause thats just how I roll
Many have asked how did freak.inc get started, actually no has asked me ever and probably no one ever will but if they do I'm gonna have a kick ass answer. So I normally don’t do this but ah here’s a little taste of the remix.
I can’t say with absolute honesty how it started for every other member but here is my story, me and my brother have always done stupid things probably never till recently to this extent but not so far off. We would stage wrestling matches for friends, do pansy jumps, and basically just mess around as brothers do. But one year as I was hanging out with my cousins they went to a store and tried to purchase a copy of CKY3 but were told they were to young (they were probably 13-14 but they seemed older since I was a lot younger) and they left it at that. But a few years later I bought a copy for my brother as a birthday gift. We both loved the movie. Then we moved to Siloam springs were it all started to happen slowly. We went to a mall and bought cky2k and cky 4 we loved those movies to do to how much they kicked ass and how we never saw anything like It before (believe it or not I found out about jackass and watched it after it got cancelled).
But I got more into it and showed the videos to my friends (Cody being one of the first that I showed and ended up being in what is now the freak.inc dynasty) and he thought it kicked ass also, and I saved up and bought all the Steve-O’s when I could find them, me and Cody spent that summer filming really crappy stunts and some skating on a high-8 camera but then it was called woodys.inc. I got some pinnacle software and dazzle but it fucked up on me and I gave up with the group. And Cody gave up.
But we still watched the videos and I showed them to more and more people and got more and more tapes. Then I bought a mini dv camera from my brother and me and Cody and a new member Steven (chicken nuggeto) started to film again but it sucked really bad as well. We released “freak.inc the first trailer†(I got the name freak.inc from a zine I was working on called freak and added inc because I thought it sounded cool). No one liked it and we got flamed like no other. But for some reason we didn’t quit. we were having way to much fun to quit so soon, so I started looking for people in my school that were as crazy (but they ended up crazier) as us.
Then I met a freak named Jonathan when we both were kicked out of the art room (we still are banned). Me Steven and I think Michael (the tall kid from the icy hot video) went to his house late that month and I found out how insane he was, he was bouncing off the walls and letting us punch him and breaking karate boards over his head and sticking his hand inside mouse traps for fun (he gave me the mouse trap I use) and I knew he had to be in the group.
But I have to take a few steps back me and Cody started filming again because I found out about the hunt and Cody was sick and Steven was the only one besides him I thought that would be interested and we started filming one weekend with me Steven his brother Larry, Dillon, and my brother Andy.
But During the filming of the first video we filmed a prank across the street from the skate park were we were going to put a small crucifix in from of a construction site and film the faces of the workers, when the went back to get the cross a kid threw a rock and they assumed it was Steven so one of them threw a brick at Steven and beat him up behind a dumpster he got two broken ribs and a bruised liver. The police charged the worker with 3rd degree battery and my brother and Steven with criminal trespassing and instigation of fighting, one they were not on the construction site and two the worker started the fight, the police didn’t even investigate they just charged them and left even thought I had the whole thing on tape. It turns out the worker was Don Bunkers son and that Don Bunker it highly respected in Siloam. We still hoping the state drops the charges.
Now back to the recruiting stages we had a lot of member in freak.inc that never show up in any of the videos any more cause we never get to film with them any more, so that kind of set back the video making process so we released videos that were short and not as good as we wanted to make but we were really excited and wanted to internet to know of freak.inc. That’s around the time the second video was released “shake it good style†the story behind that was I was about to be grounded from filming for a few months so I spent my last day of freedom editing up a video I was going to release and it was a hit.
So I’m felling good the group is feeling good and we want to make a new vid but we also are recruiting new members so we film “stevenjumpoffthisbridge†not as successful as shake it was but not horrible and a day after that I met a freak named Jordan or fish or smith which ever you like better, I knew of him only because he and my friend David took out 4 wings and 3 computers a week earlier and while in ISS made a plan for blowing up the school (it was a joke to keep them in ISS longer but he was expelled) and I knew he would be perfect in the group. It took a few months because that’s how long he was suspended for, and finally we got to film with him but I’m jumping the gun yet again.
After we filmed “have a merry freakinchristmas†I realized we had no originality in what we did (at least our stunts) and we had to think of some good ideas or we should stop making stunt based vids. Around that time the face off came about and we decided to join thinking we had forever to work on our stunts. We filmed and edited for the face off every chance we got but then I found out Steven and Larry had to move (for reasons I can’t disclose) and we had limited time to film. So we had to make a decision to make did we want to do the contest or our own video. We decided we’d rather film our own video and that’s what we have been doing.
