So I have been using Dazzle for the past few years and I've come to realize its shit (yes it took me this long) and seeing as I know nothing about firewire I'm stuck using Dazzle. Can somebody fill me in on how this works and possibly some links?

buy a fire wire, hook it up, capture with any editing software.
like OMGOSH WTF NEWB!

Easy enough, I just didn't know if I needed a certain software or a card or something.

if you dont have a firewire port in the back of your computer you will need to pick up a pci firewire card, they have them at places like best buy for probably $40 or so, you pop that inside your computer and you are golden, premiere or any other editing program will pick it up and you can capture straight from your camera.
