Looking Into Getting A Laptop.

Hey guys I'm looking to get a pretty decent laptop and I've been scoping out techbargains.com for some good deals and I've seen some pretty good ones, but what I'm mostly wondering about is the os.

If I were to get one with Vista, whats the best version of XP to install on it?

I've heard about windows black edition, but it seems thats a bit outdated, anyone know about a newer version or a similar modified os?

If I get a laptop it's gonna me a Mac.

Well I'd rather spend half as much money and be able to do twice as much stuff with it. Macs are cool, but there's really nothing that makes them worth the price to me.

I'm not defending them or anything, it's just I have to have one by my junior year anyway. My school uses them in my degree, Final Cut. I want to get it now so I won't be completely lost when that time comes.

We use them too, but I'm going into the Web Design field, so a pc has all the same software, minus that stupid fucking apple key.

what about a VAIO?

Make sure you get one with a long charging battery, because hibernation mode is extremely annoying.

theres this one series of vaio with the 512mb video card and a 2.6 ghz for like 15hundred, almost went for it, but got the quad core desktop instead, saved ca$h.....word, but yeah, on my other top, the battery is the most annyoing aspect of it. deff-get the most extended battery possible

VAIO's look so damn starboard, don't know about their performance though.

Vaio's perform great, but are normally overpriced as fuck.

don't, don't don't use vista, just install XP. you can hunt around for Tiny XP which strips everything unneeded from the original xp and makes it 400mb, and only uses 40mb of ram.

Hey, this chick is selling a VAIO for $550 at my school.
