Uploading Hd Fotage

So Im gonna be getting an HD camera soon. Already got a HD monitor and all that shit. All I wanna know is how do I upload the footage?

Is it done via firewire or so I need something else? What program is best for capturing HD footage?

Program, I just can tell you Sony Vegas 7. It has lots of HD options. Like when you render your videos you can choose different types of HD and stuff.

Premiere 2 supports it too, but I have no idea how to get it on your computer.
