Stupid ringing noise in my compter - please help!

It started yesterday. It makes it for about 1 hours then stops... Can anyone help me? ive run virus scans etc with no result..... it most likely has something to do with the fan...
try cleaning it...
if that doesn't help...buy a new one....
if that doesn't work....then I don't know

the fan thing sounds rite yeh....ill give it a clean see what happens... thanks! and urban oli thanks for that advice - cough cough!

May be the mainboards on board speaker, if it was a desktop I'd say open the case and unplug it, but on a laptop its way to risky.

Could be a moving part making the noise, try it by proceess of eliminaton,such as removing te cd drive etc, alternatively a button on your keyboard may be stuck down which is causing the speaker to beep.

The fan is a possible cause also.
