Why Are All Shapes I Create Pixelated?

Here's an example

All text I write on photoshop, no matter what the resolution is (I put it up to 1000pix per inch in this sample), turn out pixelated and look sharpened for some reason. I don't know what I've done, but PS just started to do this a while back after I created a .pdf file for the first time on PS (don't know if that has anything to do with it).
What can I do to make the borders of the letters smooth again?

EDIT: it's actually only the fonts that are pixelated, so the title is a little misleading

Ok cool cheers, but where do I turn it back on..?

k found it

If anyone else wonders, switched to 'smooth' from 'none' in the character window dropdown menu

can be closed now
