Right, I just got Particle Illusion 3, I had SE before and there seems no different. lol
But anyways...
Everytime I try to use an AVI file it says "AVI Request Format Error" does anyone know why?
I know Mr. Safety pro. uses it so if your around, any ideas?
I tried converting from WMV to AVI using "Sony Vegas 6" and "Advanced X Video Convertor" and it all has the same effect.

Never used that prog, but it could be rejecting it for these reasons:
- The original file was a .avi, but the extension has been changed to something else and it's getting confused.
- It may be a Xvid/DivX .avi file, which it might not be able to import.
- You need some sort of plugin/codec for your prog. to import avi's.
Well, those are the problems I've had before with them, and it turned out too be them.
You should try downloading a programme called "Gspot" it'll tell you everything you need to know about the videos rates and attributes and stuff...

EDIT:

If you are getting a "AVI Request Format Error" message when trying to load an
AVI as a background image, it's probably because it's a DV AVI file that particleIllusion
currently does not support. (A fix for this problem will be available in a future
update.) You'll need to convert the AVI to another format to load it into particleIllusion.
Does this mean I have to convert it to a different type of AVI?

Yeah, looks like it.
The DV Avi coder is just standard .avi though, it should support it haha, I'm pretty sure all camcorders capture on with the DV coder if you use .avi....... not very user friendly then haha.
Anyways, yeah, try converting to Xvid/DivX .avi.
