What the little sliding tab on the bottom/underside of a SONY VX-1000 battery is? It's this little tab thing that slides and has green on it when you pull it out.

all I can think is ita saftey switch, like you can do that on tapes so you dont record over them, I geuss you could flip down that switch and your camera wont turn on in your bag and kill the battery or somthing,

does it work the same with the switch both ways?

I pulled it all the way out. Then put the battery in. And when you put the battery in, it closes it.

Hmm.. my guess is, it may have something to do with your light.. being the fact that the switch color underneath is the same color green as the "Light" sticker.

Look up the model number on that battery.. let us know, cause that's a question I don't know the answer to.

Light? I don't have a light on my camera. The model number is NP-F730
