I was looking at the NUS site to see what free or half price deals they had when I found this competition that I think anyone in England can enter. It sounds good. If anyone is interested heres the info

Criminal Act: The Brief
Criminal Act is a short film competition aimed at up and coming film directors who have a point to make.
Theme: Spring Summer ‘06 Livin’ Without Consent........we walk the Narrow Path. But God is dead, and we are alone.
Livin’ without consent is about defining yourself, not being defined. Making morals not being told them. Creating your own world, not living in the virtual reality of the 21st century where what happens on TV is more real than what happens on the streets, whether those streets are in London, LA or Falluja.

Criminal Act: Mission
• Create a film no longer than 1 min that incorporates the theme of Livin’ without consent.
• Send it in by the 1st of June 2006, and we’ll show it to millions of people.
• The best films will be showcased at Criminal Showrooms in the UK & Globally and get their rightful place online, at the Criminal Clothing website.
• The winner of the competition will receive £500 worth of Criminal gear as well as the chance to create a viral ad with Underdog Ltd.
• Each runner up will receive 2 VIP tickets to an exclusive Criminal party.
Criminal Act: Extra Info
• You can only submit a film that you yourself have made.
• The film must be original and have not been showcased or used for commercial purposes before.
• Don’t try to make an advert for Criminal.
• The film only has to relate to the phrase ‘ Livin’ Without Consent ‘,
• Criminal clothing does not have to appear in the film and the film does not have to be about faking or imitating any criminal activity.
• Groups and collectives can submit, but all members must sign the forms and contracts.
• If you have any contract or legal questions regarding your film please seek professional legal advice or email [email address redacted] and we will try to help.
• We will add all credits to films submitted from information provided so don’t worry about adding end graphics.

• Signed Submission Agreement Forms
• Completed and signed Criminal Terms & Conditions of Entry
• All Original signed releases. Send originals. Keep copies for yourself.
• Completed Music Source Information.
• Your film on mini DV, DV CAM, DVD, DigiBeta, DigiSP or VHS.
• Audio disc with files of music, sound, voice-over or sound effects as .aiff or .wav files.
• A clean copy of all original music as .aiff or .wav files. Please indicate where on song you found any samples.
• Source tapes may be requested from chosen films.
Criminal Act: Submission Rules
• Signed release forms for all talent and voiceovers will be requested.
• You must have a release for any or all persons whose recognizable likeness appears in your film. Each release form must have the correct contact information. A legal parent or guardian must sign the release for minors under the age of 18.
• Forms can be downloaded from the menu to the left.
• Any third party footage, photographs or music used in your film must also be released. Some property, private and public buildings require permissions and must be released.
• You may have to get written consent from the appropriate authorities before filming a public event.
• No logo, signs or any other trademark symbol other than those belonging to Criminal Clothing may appear in the film.
• To avoid hold-ups collect all release forms before you begin filming.
• To participate you must be over the age of 13. If you are under the age of 18 you will need parental consent on the submission agreement and criminal terms and conditions of entry forms.
