I ran across this on myspace...well actually someone forwarded it to me. sounds pretty cool to me.

Please read this and forward or pass it on to as many people as you can. This idea will only be as big as the support it receives. If you want yo can also add Dr. Rage & The Uppercuts Record Label Myspace account to your profile if you are interested.

The profile is only promoting this project currently but will be updated for the whole company after the April 22nd shoot date. Please help get this idea out in any way you can.

90 Minutes OnEarth is a snapshot of a moment in time on our planet from a thousand different perspectives. This is NOT a contest; it is a collaborative experiment in filmmaking, an exercise in freedom of expression and a glimpse into the human condition.

Absurd Machine Films is inviting you to participate in a global filmmaking opportunity. On April 22, 2006 between 3:00pm and 4:30pm GMT people from all walks of life will share in the independent filmmaking spirit. Absurd Machine is asking you to contribute a short video clip of whatever you like, anything you want to show to the world at that moment, the subject matter and content are up to you. Our intent is to catalogue a vast range of cultural and personal perspectives of our world at a specific moment in time. We are fully aware that there is no foolproof way to ensure that everyone will be shooting at the requested time, but that is part of the experiment. Some people lie and some people tell the truth and we expect to get some of each.

Clips will be submitted to Absurd Machine Films for review and selected based on content. If your clip is used in the final film, you will be notified and credited for your contribution. To have your video used in the film it is imperative that you follow the rules and guidelines as well as complete and remit the provided release forms with your submission.

Please send your video and the necessary completed forms to:

Yo's

Well first off I will answer your questions in order.

- Yes send us the tape by mail. All the details are on the website.

- You need to download the release form fill it out and sign it and send it with your mini DV tape. I suggest reading and the release for and use of likeness that is required with the submission.

- The website credits shouldn't be a problem. As well what every you film it must be ONE CONTINUAL SHOT no longer than 5 mins. Read the info on our profile page about the disclaimer. Other than that you can film whatever you want.

- We are not sure what we are doing with the final product yet.

Sounds like a good idea. I think the deal with having to mail DV tapes as opposed to uploading the footage and signing release forms are too much hassle. If they're not making any profit off of this, do release forms really need to be done?
