Getting Your Videos Online
This article will tell you how to get video that you have shot with a digital video (DV-MiniDV) camera.
First thing your going to have to do, is get the video from your tape that was used in the camera onto a computer. This is called capturing your video. To do this, your going to need a capture card installed on your computer. There is an article already on hgf.com about installing a firewire card which is a type of card that can be used to capture video.
Once you have a way of getting the video onto your computer, your going to want to edit the video. Editing it can be as simple as cutting unwanted scenes out, or as complex as adding special effects. Some good beginner editing programs that will let you do the editing and let you capture your video are Windows Movie Maker or Ulead Video Studio 7. After getting good with editing, you can move on to more professional programs like Adobe Premeire.
After your done editing and you have it saved as a video file (most prefer .wmv) your going to need a place to host it so people can download it. There are some free hosts like Yahoo!s geocities, but they are unreliable and bombard your stuff with ads. I would suggest buying some space of your own from a webhosting company.
