how to capture HD DV

Yeah well for some reason vegas 6 wont let me capture my HD footage.. it keeps telling me my cam isnt connected.. is there any other apps that will capture HD DV?

never mind.. I found it.. sorry.....

here is the fix foe anyone else wondering..

1.
a. From the Options menu, choose Preferences.
b. Click the Video tab.
c. Clear the Use external video capture application check box.
d. Click the OK button.
2. From the File menu, choose Capture Video (or click the Capture Video button in the Project Media window) to start the Sony Video Capture application.
3. Configure your HDV device in Video Capture:
a. Click the button in the Capture window to open the Capture Preferences dialog.
b. Click the Device tab.
c. From the Device type drop-down list, choose IEEE 1394/MPEG2-TS Device.
d. From the Device drop-down list, choose your HDV camera.
4. Capture your clip:
a. Use the transport controls below the Video Preview window to cue your tape.
b. Click the Start Capture button to start capturing.
c. Press the Play button on your camcorder.
d. Click the Stop button (or press Esc) to end the capture procedure.

Your clip is saved to the folder specified on the Disk Management tab of the Capture Preferences dialog. This path is displayed in the Capture Folder box in the Video Capture window.

Does anyone know what that Hardware is called on Blade Trinity when she films him killing the human then puts the tape in this little box thing to get it onto her computer?

Weaks pretty clued on about HD stuff.

I thought for HD u had to have special stuff to capture it with and have a high definition monitor otherwise u wont see the difference anyway maybe I wrong

YOU wont see the difference, but anyone with an hd tv will see it. vegas is pretty shitty so I doubt it can do hd, but premiere pro and final cut pro can both do hd after you get a plugin. and you should be able to to capture it just through firewire dependin on the camera.
