Installing a Firewire Card

What You Will Need
1. Phillips Head Screwdriver
2. Firewire Card
3. A computer

Installation
1. Make sure everything is disconnected and theres no power running through you computer so you dont get shocked while messing around inside your tower. Open up you casing to view the guts of your computer.
2. Find the filler brackets where you would install any cards (56k modems will be here). They look like this.

3. Unscrew and remove the filler for the card slot you want to use.

4. Slide the card exactly where you took the filler out, and wiggle the card cutout into the card connector (stick the gold part into where it looks like it should go).

This is how it should look once its in.

5. Then put the screw back in that you took out in step 1 to hold the card in.

Your card is now fully installed. The back should looks something like this.

6. Put your computer case back together and connect the firewire cable to the card and the camera. Make sure your camera is turned to playback or VCR mode.

7. Plug all of your computers cables back in and turn your computer on. Your computer will most likely detect new hardware and install any necessary drivers. If it doesnt work, look at any directions that came with the card. You will need some sort of editing program to capture video onto your computer.
