Okay I know H|A|R is not a hardcore group. So I was thinking we have to step it up. So the stunt I did a few mins ago felt really hardcore to me. (it maybe be a pussy stunt to some of you guys) I was sitting on my friends 2 story roof and I jumped off into a bush. Yeah I know prolly gay but still its a step up for our group. Now my question is that when your doing something you have never done do you just do it or kind of stall. I was sitting up there 5 mins just saying what if what if what if stuff. But in the end I did it. Hurt like hell to lol

I figured this would happen to you guys. Just use good judgement and dont end up killing/paralizing(sp?) yourselves ok?
05 December 2004, 02:51 UTC#5
the more I think about something the mroe it sucks...usually, but jumps where I have to make distance or do a flip, I measure it up quite a bit in my head and stuff before I do it.
05 December 2004, 04:58 UTC#6
Do or don't. The more you think the more you are just going to scare yourself out of it. You could sit around and say "what if" all day for just about anything, just do it.

I usually just try to get someone else in the group to do it. haaazaa!!

Lol I stall for unbelievable amounts of time

The first time I was set on fire we had to record me saying it was ok for my friend to light me and that I shouldnt be classed as manslaughter if I died

if you don't feel like being hardcore don't be.. man I've heard stories of this guy doing the exact same but then from a much higher building. He was a skater, sat on 5m high roof and let him drop into a bush, however his knee hit his jaw and his knee was fucking broken, he can't skate anymore for the rest of his life. I always see bush jumping either for skilled people who jump from sick heights or for people who don't have the experience and will break their body if they'd jump from a building on grass.
IMO, people who don't have the skills to get away unscaved from a jump, shouldn't do it at all. If you really feel urged to jump off shit I'd say go to your playground and learn to jump off things that are 2,5 meters high. Learn how to absorb the landing (don't lock your knees --> roll instead). Training is actually pretty important, it's not just fucking around guys. Anyway, take a look at Nick from Triple0, he's just a fucking monkey and totally knows how to "relax" his body and land like a dummy.. untill you know how to do that, don't jump off too high shit unless you want to break something. Have fun.

it sucked the first time I tried a big jump. I locked my knees. I was on the ground for so long. I could barely get up.

HAHA! Isnt it just instinct to roll? Landing flat is just retarded....

Yeah my friend Adam jumped off a 2 story roof with lockin' his knees. His back was messed up for the rest of the day.

Both really. There's a few things that make a good jump.
- Lean forward (this makes it easy to roll)
- If you dont do the first things, at least make sure your knees aren't locked.
- The harder you run and jump the easier your landing is cause it all goes so quickly you just bang and fly over the ground without even thinking about letting yourself roll, lol.
But look at the roof gap in Trial and Error on my website (around 1:04). Thats an example of a jump almost going wrong. The landing was totally wrong. An ankle could have been broken that day

If you look closely (at a good jump) it goes like this (wel in my case)
- Jump
- Go through knees, your right underarm hits the ground quickly followed by your legs (knees), you roll over your side and you can walk away.
That way the power (speed) created by the jump doesn't get absorbt by just your knees/legs but your putting it away in the roll. That way a bone break will be prevented.
Jumping in a good way off a 6,5m high building will be the same as jumping completely wrong off a 2,5m building.
