Just thought I would let everyone know that I have bought a .com domain. It's harvideos.com. It should be up and running monday night.

Erm I bought the domain only. So I thought that it would be smart just to forward the .com name to my old site address but now there is a huge ad. Anyone know a way to get rid of the ad. I'm not paying 50 dollars to have it removed.

Where did you host your old page?
And how do you plan to make your old server to www.harvideos.com?
I'm asking this because I have a similar problem. I got some aid to it but it didn't quite do the trick, since the URL on my site isn't www.ripoffthemovie.com. When you type that URL it just redirects you to the place where my page is hosted (school server), and then the URL bar reads "people.arcada.fi/~ala..." (school URL) etc. . What I originally wanted was that the URL bar on the browser would always read www.ripoffthemovie.com, instead of a long school URL.. I'm talking about URL Cloaking, the same kind that cjb.net and .tk does, with the difference that it would be .com in this case.
I bought my .com at freewebs..

Well if you only bought the domain like me then they will not host your site. So the thing you did was forward the url to your school one. I've heard that freewebs has awesome support you should emial them and ask if you can cloak your domain. And since you pay them they should get right to your email.

29 November 2004, 00:48 UTC#11

29 November 2004, 01:31 UTC#13
Can you forward your site without having ads on it?
